A few months ago Aveda J Institute was running a promotion for a FREE Spa service.
I scheduled an appointment to have the "Stress Reliving Treatment". I was greeted as I entered the door. As I registered the staff asked me if I wanted some tea or water to drink.
They served their tea and water out of ceramic cups (I loved that).
The staff was very upbeat and everyone smiled and were very polite.
I was greeted by by a Senior level Student who brought me to my room. As I entered the room, the lights were low, light music was playing and candles were burning. The room smelled fresh and it put me at ease. She asked me to fill out a short questionnaire that would tell her a little bit about me and the type of skin that I had so that the products she used would be of benefit to my skin. She then briefly discussed it with her Instuctor (whom is licensed). She instructed me to place my clothes in a bag that was hanging on the chair. The treatment started offf with a foot soak/cleanse. After the foot soak I layed down on the massage table. She proceeded to massage my face with an oil of my choosing. She then massaged my legs, feet, arms and neck. The treament lasted for about 45 minutes and it was indeed "Stress Relieving". I didn't want to get off the table. I had to lay there for a few minutes before getting dressed.
After getting dressed, she gave me an evaluation form and explained to me what products would be good form my skin type. We headed to the area to view the products. I decided to try the "Formaline" Line. I checked out at the desk and headed out of the door. The staff at J. Aveda Institute in Royal Oak are awesome! I would definitely use their services again. Their prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is great.
