SLEEP NUMBER OFFERS SLEEP RELIEF TO MILITARY PERSONNEL THIS VETERANS DAY

10.25.2010– (Oct. 25, 2010) Sleep disorders affect a disproportionate number of active and retired military personnel. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, the number of veterans receiving treatment for sleep-related disorders has increased 61 percent in the past two years, and sleep apnea alone affects approximately 20 percent of veterans, as compared to only five percent of the non-military population. Insomnia also ranks high among the reasons active military personnel seek mental health services.

This Veterans Day, current and retired military men and women are invited to a Sleep Number store to see how a mattress and bedding accessories can help improve their sleep. Between Oct. 31 and Nov. 14, 2010, all active and retired military personnel, with appropriate military ID, receive a free travel pillow for visiting a Sleep Number store and finding their Sleep Number setting, in addition to exclusive bed and bedding discounts. Sleep Number beds are proudly "Sewn in the USA" and the company employs more than 2,000 Americans across the country.
